Different Silks I Use

Sometimes called China silk, this is the type of silk most familiar to people. It has an even weave that gives it a smooth and shiny surface. This is a lightweight soft silk that drapes well.

Flat Crepe

The spin and weave of this silk gives it a slightly uneven surface with more shine and a more slippery feel than the Habotai silk. It is very soft and drapes beautifully.

Crepe Georgette

This is a sheer semi-transparent silk. The loose weave of this silk gives it a crinkly surface. It lacks the shine and slippery feel of habotai and flat crepe silk. Although sometimes mistaken for chiffon, the georgette silk is a little heavier weight.
